Strategic Plans

The primary project of this sector is to develop the Popotle Artistic Center (Centro Artesanal Mueblero Popotla) which we hope will develop the cluster to the south of the city.

The objective of this project is to group the providers of the sector into a shopping center, so that the consumer has all services in a one stop location, such as design, production, consulting, customs brokerage, among others.

Shows, festivals and Expos

In 2006, the AFAMARO set forth the yearly traditional “ExpoMueble Rosarito”, exposition that has as its main objective to elevate knowledge of furniture and other handcrafted items created in Rosarito.

The expo consists of a furniture, craft, accessories and fine arts show, all locally manufactured in wood, iron, marble and ceramic, all in accordance with a sample of what is manufactured in the area.

The General Objective of both editions of the expo was:

• Secure Rosarito as “The Place” to acquire furniture and home accessories.

Specific Objectives were as follows:

• Increase foot traffic to the shops and galleries.
• Create a list of potential clients.
• Consolidate the furniture sector as an important part of Rosarito’s economy.
• Increase sales within the furniture sector as well as creating a new alternative to increase its customer base.
• Create business opportunities within Southern California as a potential marketplace for this sector.

This promotional effort has had the support of various institutions such as the Federal Ministry of Economy, State Ministry of Economic Development, Business Coordination Council, Economic Development Consulting Board for Rosarito, Tourism and Convention Committee for Rosarito and the Public Trust for the Touristic Promotion of Playas de Rosarito.

The 2007 edition received more resident visitors (61%) that foreigners (39%). Participants: wood furniture producers, ironworkds, floors, marble and accessories. Affiliated and not affiliated to Afamaro.
